Welcome
Dear Parents,
Thank you for considering
Montessori education for your child. The Primary Montessori Day
School was conceived from my own experience as a Montessori teacher
and director for the past 24 years. I am quite aware of the importance
of balancing the needs of child, parent, and neighboring community.
We are offering a unique full-day Montessori curriculum and an
eleven-month school calendar in effort to meet family needs. We
are integrating parent education opportunities into our school
agenda. It is a wise goal for parents to seek out the best fit
between child and school. It is equally important to be certain
that a school can realistically deliver a parent’s educational
goals and personal values to a child. Please be aware that the
word “Montessori” is not patented. Anyone can use it, and the
word itself is no guarantee of quality. Learn what a Montessori
school should be like, then observer the children work! In a good
school, there will be a certified Montessori teacher who also
meets state approval requirements. There will be a full range
of Montessori materials. The children will be busy, happy, and
kind. Choose carefully, as your child will be entering a second
family. You should feel in harmony with a school’s ambience and
practice. Trust your eyes, ears, instinct, and personal experience.
The Primary Montessori Day School requires a classroom observation
and parent interview as part of our admission procedure. Please
call the school office for an appointment.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Donna L. Anthony
